Frequently Asked Questions

Nope.
The professional answer: New Game Careers is a career development game with short video lessons, small daily actions, and progress tracking that happens during your actual workday.
The fun answer: You have two digital teammates helping you work through the levels in the game world. But they can't move forward without you. Do you really want that on your conscience?
You move the game forward by making moves in the real world. Complete 15 actions at your actual job, and you unlock the next level. That's the game.
-
If you want them, absolutely.
You could go through all of New Game Careers without speaking to a single soul. Everything you need to play the game is there.
But meetings with me are completely optional and can absolutely be arranged if you want some help, want to talk through what you're working on, or just want another human in your corner.
I created New Game Careers because I genuinely love working with people and helping them level up.
So if you want to meet, we should. If you don't? Right on. Keep playing.
-
Absolutely. Just send me a message and we can talk about what you need and how I can help.
-
Definitely not.
If you can watch a short video, answer a few questions, and check a box after you do something at work, you have all the gaming experience required.
The levels, characters, Power-Ups, bosses, and XP are there because career development doesn’t have to feel like worksheets and vague advice piled on top of the 700 emails you answered today.
-
Anybody who wants to change their situation at work.
I don't care if you're six months into your career or twenty years into it. If there's somewhere else you want to go, the game can help you start moving toward it.
We remove as much of the guesswork as we can. Your part is pretty simple: show up, be accountable, and take action.
That's really the only requirement.
-
About 10 hours total. And you go at your own pace.
Each lesson takes less than 30 minutes, and the rest happens through small actions you take during your actual workday. You can move through the game as quickly or slowly as you want.
Fun fact: your career is roughly 100,000 hours long.
For perspective, if you squished that entire career into a single 24-hour day, New Game Careers would take about 10 seconds.
-

-
Yes. And you should.
The Tutorial Level is completely free. You'll create your character, meet your team, and see exactly how New Game Careers works before you spend anything.
